Primarily reconnaissance. Investigate an anomaly and determine whether the humans who have come in contact with it are in danger from Agents. Extractions if necessary.

What do you know about the anomaly?

It seems to be a glitch in the matrix, manifesting as a distortion in reality, a sort of instability. We won't know much more than that until we go get a look at it firsthand. Are you interested?

[ If it's putting people in danger, she wants to help. On the other hand, she hasn't gone back in since she was extracted. Which would be fine, except that she has freaking earthquake powers that she can't control. ]

Yeah. I'm interested. But I haven't been back in yet, and you said you wanted someone experienced.

I would prefer experience. My crew right now has about a month between them and someone other than me to balance that would be ideal. But I'm not going to rule you out until I see who else might be interested. How come you haven't been back in yet? Have you done sims at least?

[ If she's honest, she won't get to come. That much, she's sure of. "Uncontrollable superpowers" are a good way to get benched, but she really wants to help. CONFLICT. ]

I just figured my energies were better spent in the real world. No sims.

[ Kate is conflicted as well, though for slightly different reasons. It takes her a bit to respond. ]

To be honest, I don't know. I'm all for new blood and giving people shots so they can get experience, but there's a pretty good chance of running into Agents on this one and bringing someone who's never even been in a sim into that on top of an inexperienced crew sounds like asking for casualties.

We've got room on board if you want to come along anyway. I can't promise you won't end up benched but if the place isn't swarming I'd like to do some modern world familiarization with the ren faires and you could at least help with that and get some hours in. If things are quiet, maybe some recon.
